CSEM
CSEM will bring its high expertise in the development of high efficiency silicon solar cells and of advanced multi-wire based interconnection technologies. CSEM has full process flows established for high efficiency
silicon heterojunction cell manufacturing, mastering advanced metallization (plating or shingle SHJ cells), cut-SHJ cells and detailed edge losses characterization and management, which will serve in WP3 and WP7
developments. CSEM further developed to maturity advanced passivating contacts using thermal annealing achieved during firing of the metallization (in particular in the frame of the DISC H2020 project), as well as advanced back-contacted solar cells concepts (in particular in the frame of the NEXTBASE H2020 project) based on localized PECVD deposition techniques. Both approaches will be combined in the proposed project,
to develop very high efficiency and simple concepts for back-contacted solar fabrication in WP3, with potential rapid industrial uptake with key EU equipment manufacturers. CSEM together with industrial partners has strong expertise in multi-wire interconnection technologies, and has demonstrated its application for back-contacted silicon heterojunction solar cells (in particular in the frame of the NEXTBASE H2020 project). This technology will be adapted in WP4 for the interconnection of the project’s back-contacted solar cells, with potential rapid uptake with key EU equipment manufacturers. CSEM will lead the outdoor demonstration work package (WP6), managing installation sites and monitoring, based on its expertise in the field and in the different cells and modules technologies addressed in the project.
